Bancolombia Ends 2007 with 34,000 Mobile Banking Clients

Colombia's largest bank Bancolombia ended 2007 with 34,000 clients for its mobile banking service, local newspaper Portafolio reported.

The bank launched the service in June and since then has processed 532,000 mobile banking transactions.

The service, called Banca Móvil, enables clients to make payments, bank transfers and requests for information, among other services.

Some 38% of Latin America's largest 100 banks now offer services accessible via their customers' mobile phones, according to Spanish messaging platform supplier Latinia.
