Revised Worldwide Semiconductor Sales Figures for 2007

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) has released revised worldwide semiconductor sales figures for the year 2007. The data reflects upward revisions in the DRAM sales data for the period January through September 2007 made by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS), the body responsible for aggregating worldwide semiconductor sales figures.

For the year to date period (January through November 2007), DRAM sales are $1.35 billion or 4.8 percent higher than previously reported. As a result, for the same time period, total semiconductor sales are also $1.35 billion or 0.6 percent higher than previously reported. January through November 2007 sales are running 3.4 percent ahead of the same time period in 2006.

December 2007 sales figures - as well as full year 2007 data - will be released by SIA on January 31, 2008.
