Argentina: Mobile Lines Up 28% at End-Nov
Argentina had 38.7mn mobile lines in service at the end of November 2007, up 28% compared to the same time in 2006, national statistics institute Indec said in a statement.
Mobile traffic in November amounted to 2.67bn calls, up 27.4% compared to November 2006.
Fixed line local telephony traffic rose 14% to 1.3bn calls, while domestic long distance calls were up 25.5% to 305mn compared to the same month in 2006.
The number of outgoing international long distance calls climbed 22.4%, while the number of minutes increased 14.5%.
At the end of November, there were 9.25mn fixed lines in service, 2.5% more than in 2006. Public phones totaled 147,100, down 5.8% year-on-year.
