PLDT's Mobile Phone Subscribers Exceed 30 Million at End 2007
MANILA -(Dow Jones)- Philippine Long Distance Telephone, the country's largest telecommunications firm by revenue, Wednesday said its total mobile phone subscribers exceeded 30 million at the end of 2007.
The figure is 6% higher than the 28.3 million it reported at the end of September.
PLDT's mobile phone service is provided by its wholly-owned unit Smart Communications Inc.
In a disclosure to the stock exchange, PLDT also reported that there are over one million users of its mobile phone banking service, while nearly 300,000 are using its wireless broadband service.
