Tricycle Driver Climbs Cellphone Tower in Apparent Suicide Bid

A passenger bicycle rider climbed a 50-foot cellular phone tower in Valenzuela City in The Philippines, in an apparent suicide attempt yesterday morning, but was rescued/removed before he could jump from the tower.

A local radio report said Felizardo Burigas, a tricycle driver, scaled the tower along Angeles Street in Barangay Pasolo. A member of the Valenzuela Rescue Unit rescued Burigas before he could commit suicide.

Burigas's son, Alex, told the radio station that his father had become despondent after his labor case languished at the Department of Labor and Employment.
