AsiaInfo to Upgrade China Mobile's Business Operation Support System
AsiaInfo Holdings says that it has signed a contract with Zhejiang Mobile, a subsidiary of China Mobile, to upgrade its Business Operation Support System (BOSS). Under the terms of the contract, AsiaInfo will upgrade Zhejiang Mobile's BOSS system to comply with China Mobile's new BOSS 3.0 specifications, with an emphasis on strengthening channel management functionality and improving data consistency among the carrier's BOSS subsystems.
''Our scaleable software solutions have allowed us to form a long-term, strategic partnership with China Mobile as it expands and upgrades its BOSS system to accommodate rapid subscriber growth and adapt to the changing demands of end users,'' said Steve Zhang, president and chief executive officer of AsiaInfo. ''As the leading provider of software solutions to China's telecom carriers, AsiaInfo are committed to helping carriers offer leading-edge services to their customers."
AsiaInfo deployed Zhejiang Mobile's existing BOSS system in 2002 to support ten million subscribers. Since 2002, Zhejiang Mobile's subscriber base has more than tripled to approximately 34 million subscribers and its BOSS system is currently the largest in China and the second largest in the world. Earlier this year AsiaInfo also signed a contract with Zhejiang Mobile to optimize its BOSS system.
