CTI Movil Launches 3G in Coastal Cities
Argentine mobile operator CTI Móvil has launched 3G services over HSDPA infrastructure in several coastal towns and cities in Buenos Aires province, local newspaper La Nación reported.
Among the cities and municipalities where the operator now provides these services are Mar del Plata, Cariló, Santa Teresita, Mar del Tuyú, Ostende, Pinamar and Mar de Ajó.
CTI subscribers in these areas will now be able to access services such as mobile broadband and videoconferencing.
On November 9, CTI launched 3G services in capital Buenos Aires and in the cities of Córdoba and Rosario.
CTI Móvil is a unit of Mexican mobile group América Móvil. By launching 3G it is following in the footsteps of Personal, owned by Telecom Argentina and Movistar, the local unit of Spain's Telefónica, which launched 3G services earlier this year.
