Press: Trial Set for Hondutel Head, 2 Possible Successors

The trial of Honduran state telco Hondutel head Marcelo Chimirri is set to start December 5, and there is already speculation about his successor, according to local press reports.

Chimirri, who faces charges of abuse of authority, espionage, and possession of illegal arms, appeared for the second time in court on November 20 as a requirement to avoid imprisonment.

Local newspaper El Heraldo published the names of two possible successors: Marcio Sierra, who currently works for the technical unit of the government, and Julio Quintanilla, who is the CEO of real estate bank Banprovi.
