Paraguayan mobile operator CTI Móvil has launched 3G services in capital Asunción, local newspaper La Nación reported company general manager Luciano Mauroni as saying.
The executive said that the 3G network is being deployed from Asunción to other cities across the country. Mauroni also said that 3G services will be available in Ciudad del Este by December and in Encarnación by March 2008.
The service includes mobile broadband and videoconferencing.
Earlier this month, CTI, owned by Mexican giant América Móvil, launched 3G services in Argentina. Initially, the service will be available in greater Buenos Aires, Rosario and Córdoba while during the first quarter of 2008, the operating area is scheduled to expand to the cities of Mendoza, Santa Fe, Tucumán, Corrientes, Resistencia, Salta, Bahía Blanca, Neuquén and Comodoro Rivadavia.
In Uruguay, the operator is scheduled to provide coverage in Colonia and Punta del Este.
