Telcordia Wins Malaysian Mobile Number Portability Management Contract

With mobile number portability in Malaysia just months away, Telcordia says that it has won a contract to provide a MNP clearing house for the operators. In March, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced that a consortium comprising Talian Gerak Alih, Unified Communications and Telcordia was selected to build, operate and manage the Mobile Number Portability Clearinghouse in Malaysia.

The platform, which will be implemented in the first half of 2008, enables carriers to comply with the countryĆ's timeline for the implementation of mobile number portability. At the core of the solution is the Telcordia Number Portability Clearinghouse.

The Telcordia number portability solution includes the Telcordia Number Portability Clearinghouse, which makes it easy for wireline and mobile service providers to comply with number portability mandates by serving as a central number repository and a central point for porting all types of numbers. Telcordia also offers the Telcordia Number Portability Gateway, which helps improve operator number portability implementation timelines at less risk, provide increased port request flow through, and simplify management of both internal and external systems interfaces.
