Thai Mobile Operator Awards Fixed Line Contract to Nokia-Siemens
Nokia Siemens Networks has signed its inaugural fixed network deal with DTAC Network, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thai mobile operator DTAC. This contract extends Nokia Siemens Networks' footprint in DTAC as its sole supplier for both wireless and fixed equipment. DTAC Network received its IDD license to operate International Voice services in February this year.
In its contract with DTAC subsidiary, DTAC Network, Nokia Siemens Networks will deliver its softswitches (SURPASS hiE 9200), trunk media gateways (SURPASS hiG 1200), announcement server (SURPASS hiR 200), NetManager and IP Transport.
The company is also awarded with a whole range of Services and will provide project management, interoperability testing, network implementation, system integration and commissioning services as well as competence development training of personnel. Additionally, the Care unit of Nokia Siemens Networks will support DTAC Network in maintaining the newly installed hard- and software, inclusive of emergency and hardware repair and replacement services.
The overall contract runs for five years.
Nokia Siemens Networks has been in collaboration with DTAC since the early 1990s and has been its sole network supplier since October 2003.
