VoiceStream Takeover Passes Another Hurdle

The American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has cleared the planned takeover of the USA GSM1900 network, VoiceStream by Deutsche Telekom. There had been concerns in the USA government about the ability of the FBI to maintain its ability to tap into the VoiceStream network, if it was owned by a foreign company. The FBI is also assured that it will be able to check if foreign security organisations are themselves tapping into the VoiceStream network. "
