Chunghwa Telecom Jan-Sep Unaudited Net Profit NT$37.8 Billion

TAIPEI -(Dow Jones)- Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom said Tuesday its unaudited net profit in the January-September period was NT$37.8 billion (US$1.16 billion), or NT$3.56 a share.

Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan's largest phone company by revenue, didn't provide a year-earlier figure for comparison in a statement on the earnings. It reported an unaudited net profit of NT$34.2 billion, or NT$3.52 a share, for the January to September period of 2006.

Revenue in September was NT$15.97 billion, Chunghwa Telecom said in a filing to the Taiwan Stock Exchange. The company's revenue in September 2006 was NT$15.69 billion.
