Tecore Demos Tri-Mode GSM / CDMA / EV-DO Network

Tecore Wireless Systems has announced the successful demonstration of their Tri-Mode GSM, CDMA and EV-DO Rapid Deployment System to a USA Military operational organization. The Tri-Mode system demonstration included Tecore's SoftMSC as well as IP-enabled GSM / GPRS / EDGE, CDMA and EV-DO base stations – a complete multi-technology, all-IP high speed wireless network – self contained in only two tactical transit cases.

Tri-Mode allows cellular and satellite network operators, governments and military units the ability to inventory a rapid deployment network for disaster communications restoral, peace keeping activities, remote search and rescue, special events or other unique situations. The platform leverages the full software functionality of the global Soft MSC product line including MSC, VLR, HLR, AuC, SMSC, EDGE, GPRS, USSD, and Prepaid in a single compact platform. Its ruggedized architecture, small footprint, ability to be mounted in a vehicle, and integrated capabilities make it ideal for wireless operators faced with fast access requirements, disaster recovery, or rapid expansion needs.

"Our customers are looking for the flexibility that multi-technology wireless communications brings, and to quickly use it in demanding physical environments where rapid establishment of communication can save lives. Tecore was able to meet this challenge," said Doss McComas, Tecore's Vice President of Business Development. "We are leaders in providing wireless solutions to complex networking challenges. We have a wide range of software development and system deployment expertise in providing macro cellular networks worldwide with innovative mobile core and base station products."
