Another Fashion Label Seeks to Launch Mobile Phones

The UK clothing label, Ted Baker is in talks to launch a series of branded mobile phones, in association with the retailer, CarphoneWarehouse. The handsets are expected to be launched in time for the Xmas sales rush said Ray Kelvin, chief executive at Ted Baker during the company's financial results announcement.

Kelvin also said he had given consideration to the mobile phones venture as part of a careful brand expansion. He said: "We're not going to stick our name on absolutely everything. Armani have one coming out and Prada have had one."

Ted Baker is one of the fastest-growing leading lifestyle brands in the UK, and its collections have expanded rapidly since its beginnings as a menswear brand in Glasgow in 1987. Ted Baker has since become a global brand, which produces men's, women's and children's clothing. The company also produces fragrances, eyeware and accessories. It sells a range of cosmetics under the name Ted Baker Bodywear; these are marketed exclusively through Boots in the UK.
