A man was lucky to not be held in contempt of court after his mobile phone rang in a packed courtroom. His saving grace was the highly embarrassing nature of the ringtone which caused more laughter than annoyance. A packed courtroom at Ipswich, Queensland was in the middle of a legal case when the sounds of a woman in sexual pleasure was heard coming from the public gallery.
The message repeated a woman moaning: "Oh, yeah ... yeah ... oh, yeah ... do it to me." reports The Australian newspaper. The man took nearly 20 seconds to fumble for his phone and silence the ringtone.
Most courts in Queensland bar the use of mobile phones in court, and presiding magistrate Roger Stark could have added to the unfortunate mans embarrassment by holding him in contempt of court and jailed him for up to six months.
