Moldovan Operator Stops Sending Bills to Fantasy Subscribers

Moldova's Moldcell says that it has sent its last paper based monthly invoice to its "Fantasy" subscribers - and henceforth customers will have to access their bill via the USSD menu on their mobile phone.

Moldcell says that tens of thousands of account statements used to be sent to Fantasy subscribers each month, whereas the amount of paper used for these purposes equaled to 20 tons per year.

According to figures from the Mobile World, Moldcell ended the first half of this year with just under 470,000 subscribers - giving it a market share of 31.6%.
