Two Bulgarian Operators Ready for Mobile Number Portability
Blugaria's Globul says that it is ready to implement mobile number portability on September 20th, this year. This was declared to tlecoms regulator, the CRC at a meeting last week where representatives from Globul and vivatel presented the results from the successful tests for number portability between the two networks.
The reason for the meeting was the decision taken by CRC by which the Regulator obliged the mobile operators to reach an agreement within the period of September 20, 2007 regarding the procedure for the implementation of number portability.
According to Globul the basic principles of number portability determined by the Regulator shouldn't be changed. The company says that the operative Procedure, signed by Globul and vivatel guarantees confidentiality of the personal information of clients and protects their rights during number portability.
According to Globul, M-tel's offer to develop a new procedure for number portability will lead to a significant delay in the process and to serious sanctions on the part of the European Commission.
