Arrests Over SMS Rumours in Malaysia

Acting state police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff confirmed the arrests and said investigations were being carried out under Section 28 of the Internal Security Act, which allows suspects to be held without trial.

"We are not taking this matter lightly. We want to get to the root of this problem and will not hesitate to arrest anyone involved in disrupting the security in the state," he warned.
