Samsung Electronics has announced plans to expand its Research and Development (R&D) Centers in India, China and Poland. Samsung?s existing R&D centers in India and China will increase number of engineers and enhance its facilities, while at Warsaw, Poland a new Telecom R&D organization will be established.
The R&D centers will start their projects from this autumn
New R&D organizations will focus on Software Engineering of mobile phones and customization of applications for its respective markets.
Geesung Choi, President of Samsung's Telecommunication Network Business, said: "Samsung has been committed to long-term development in emerging markets such as central Europe, India and China. With strong local R&D organizations, I expect to continuously strengthen our market position in these regions."
Samsung's Telecommunication Network Business, which covers mobile phone and telecom infrastructure, currently operates five overseas R&D Centers in UK, USA, China, Israel, and India.
