China Mobile Awards Pakistan Contract to Chinese Billing Firm

AsiaInfo Holdings says that it has won a contract with CMPak, a subsidiary of China Mobile in Pakistan, to provide billing and CRM software solutions. The telecom software solution project represents AsiaInfo's first contract outside of China.

"We are delighted to be one of China Mobile's key strategic partners as they develop into international markets," said Steve Zhang, President and CEO of AsiaInfo. "We believe our world-class software solutions are well suited to the unique dynamics of emerging markets and we are confident that this will contribute to China Mobile's success in Pakistan."

Under the terms of the contract, AsiaInfo will provide its OpenBilling On- line Charging System (OCS), and OpenCRM customer relationship management system to CMPak. The system, designed to support 10 million subscribers, provides real time, convergent billing and unified customer service.

"This overseas contract with China Mobile is a milestone in the history of AsiaInfo," added Mr. Zhang. "This provides the foundation for AsiaInfo to capitalize on growing opportunities in emerging markets."
