MEXICO CITY -(Dow Jones)- Mexican mobile phone operator America Movil said Thursday it has agreed to buy wireless services concern Oceanic Digital Jamaica.
In a press release, America Movil said the deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter. The company didn't disclose financial terms of the planned acquisition.
America Movil is Latin America's largest mobile services company, with more than 137 million subscribers in 16 countries in the Americas.
The Oceanic acquisition would expand the company's presence in the Caribbean, where it has existing operations in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
