HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- China Mobile (Hong Kong) said Thursday its first-half net profit rose 25% from the year-earlier period on rapid revenue growth in its value-added services.
Net profit for the six months ended June 30 was CNY37.9 billion, up from CNY30.2 billion a year earlier.
The result was higher than the average CNY36.59 billion forecast of eight analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires.
The company, the listed unit of China's largest mobile operator by subscribers, reported first-half revenue of CNY166.6 billion, up from CNY136.98 billion.
China Mobile recommended a first-half dividend of HK$0.837 a share and a special dividend of HK$0.085 a share.
Last year, the company recommended a first-half dividend of HK$0.62 a share and a special dividend of HK$0.09.
