Orange Reported to Have Secured iPhone for France
France Telecom's mobile arm, Orange is reported to have secured the distribution agreement for Apple's iPhone in France. The French newspaper, Le Figaro, citing a report in MacScoop says that is has several independent sources who have verified the report. The newspaper claims that the iPhone would be launched in France shortly after the French Apple Expo show in Paris which occurs at the end of September.
Just 50,000 handsets are expected to be available at launch though - which has raised speculation that this could be the first batch in a 3G enabled version of the much hyped handset.
