Regulator, Statistics Agency Cooperate on ICT Trends Data Collection"
The Dominican Republic's telecoms regulator Indotel and the country's national statistics agency ONE have agreed to work together in the gathering of statistics about the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), Indotel said in a statement.
The two would collaborate not only in the collection, but also in the analysis and publishing of statistical data. Indotel will allow ONE access to Indotel resources and infrastructure to ensure the most detailed and accurate analyses possible.
Additionally, the agreement creates a committee to oversee technical aspects in the gathering and publishing of data.
"What we want to do with this agreement is strengthen the basic statistics of both the information society and telecommunications sectors... it is a way of seeing where we are and where we need to go," Indotel's president José Rafael Vargas said in the statement."
