Kuwait Announces Plans for 3rd Mobile Phone Network
Kuwait's Investment Authority has published the plans to offer a 26% stake in the country's 3rd mobile phone license to international investors. The tender document states that the company being set up to run the 3rd network will be 50% floated on the local stock market, with 24% held by the government - and the remaining 26% offered to an investor.
Foreign telecom firms and listed local companies operating in other sectors have until July 31 to register for the sale, the Authority said in a statement.
Interested parties shall pay a non-refundable KD 10,000 fee in order to get the RFI document and must first complete the registration form. After that, the Establishing Committee will notify the interested parties via email of their official status as an RFI Participant, and their eligibility to download the RFI documents from on a secure area on the website."
