Iran Has 42 Million Telecoms Users
Iran's state owned telecoms company (TCI) has announced that the country now has 42 million combined mobile and landline subscribers. According to IRNA Economic Desk reporter, TCI Public Relations also announced that the country expects to see the landline base rise from the current 22.9 million to 36 million by March 2010.
The state operator, also known as the First Mobile Phone Operator, is reported to have 17.79 million subscribers. The two private sector wireless operators, IranCell and Taliya have over 1.5 million subscribers, although no break-down to their base was provided."
