Man Sentenced For Using Camera Phone to Take Indecent Photos
A 23 year old man from Pennsylvania, USA has been sentenced to eight years in prison for using his mobile phone to store child pornography. Kenneth Patrick Jeffries II lost his phone at a social event, and the people who found it and saw the images stored in the camera phone memory contacted police who were then able to trace its ownership.
Authorities told The Associated Press that they found 168 images of nude children and adults on the phone. Prosecutors said Jeffries also used his cell phone to take sexually explicit photographs of himself and a 9-year-old boy who was asleep.
Jeffries pleaded guilty to the child porn charge before United States District Judge Thomas M. Hardiman back in April. He was originally charged in August 2006.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Sharpsville Police Department and the Niles, Ohio Police Department conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Kenneth Patrick Jeffries II."
