Mobile Lines Up 42.2% End-May
Mobile lines in service in Argentina rose 42.2% to 35.6mn at the end of May compared to the same month in 2006, while mobile traffic for the month rose 26.3% year-on-year to 2.1bn calls, national statistics institute Indec said in a statement.
Fixed line local telephony traffic rose 6% in May and domestic long distance calls decreased 0.1% compared to May 2006.
The number of outgoing international long distance calls was up 25%, while the number of minutes rose 12%.
There were 8.7mn fixed lines in service, up 2.7% compared to end-May 2006. Public phones totaled 153,600, down 2.6%."
