Ericsson Mobile Softswitch Solution Chosen by Wataniya Algeria
Ericsson has been selected to deliver its Mobile Softswitch Solution for Wataniya Telecom's nationwide GSM network in Algeria. With this contract Wataniya takes its first step towards an all-IP core network.
Ericsson says that it's Mobile Softswitch Solution is the world's most widely deployed softswitch architecture solution. It powers about 50 percent of all the mobile networks with softswitch architecture that are in full commercial service.
Wataniya Algeria ended Q1 '07 with just under 3 million subscribers, according to statistics from The Mobile World. This represents a local market share of 13.4%."
