Brazil's telecoms regulator Anatel is resolute it will hold auctions for third generation (3G) mobile licenses this year, the watchdog said in a statement.
Auctions for both 3.5GHz and 10GHz spectrum licenses for WiMax services and 3G have been greatly anticipated by operators but Anatel has been giving mixed messages.
"Anatel has decided that it is important to accelerate the procedures for the auction and public consultation period for 3G," the statement read."
