WiMAX In-Building Repeater Launched
Dekolink Wireless has announced what it says is an industry-first in-building repeater solution for the WiMAX market. The Deko2425-M WiMAX MIMO-based repeater can be implemented in mobile carriers' and other mobile WiMAX networks in the 2.5-2.7 GHz bands.
"With Mobile WiMAX deployments ramping up during 2008 as wave-2 infrastructure becomes available, Dekolink has developed a key in-building application," says Rami Hasarchi, CEO of Dekolink. "Additionally, because WiMAX is deployed in such a high frequency band, signals don't propagate as well for WiMAX as for cellular technologies. This will continue to create a great demand for efficient in-building, WiMAX coverage solutions -- even beyond the current level experienced with 3G," Mr. Hasarchi continues.
The initial product is designed predominantly for the US 2.5-2.7 GHz market. Product releases for the 3.5 GHz band designed for international deployments are being developed.
The Deko2425-M Mobile WiMAX repeater features an automated TDD synchronization mechanism that detects and locks to the network TDD pattern. It provides 24 dBm composite output power per antenna port and supports both 5 MHz and 10 MHz WiMAX channels.
The Deko2425-M will be generally available during Q3 2007."
