European Telecoms Rating Stable - S&P

Published on:

In strong contrast with the trend seen since 2004, ratings activity for the largest telecommunications and satellite operators in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) has been fairly stable since the publication of the last industry report card last November, said Standard & Poor's Ratings Services.

"Although, as indicated back in November, we continue to expect negative rating actions to prevail as a whole in 2007, fewer issuers should be affected than in the past, and the rating levels of investment-grade telecoms issuers could show some signs of stabilization," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst and managing director Guy Deslondes."
