Cellphone Deflects Gunshot - Saves Life
A man survived a shooting earlier this week, thanks in part to his cellphone - which slowed and deflected the bullet when it struck him. Roger Baxter, who lost his legs in a road accident - had disturbed a burglar in his home on Tuesday morning, reports the KUSA*TV website.
"I thought it was pretty low of him to take and try to rob a disabled person," said Baxter.
Despite being shot in the chest Tuesday, the hospital released him, saying he was in good condition. "It hit me in the cell phone, went through the cell phone, and projected down and grazed me," said Baxter. Baxter had the phone in his left shirt pocket, over his heart.
The burglar was later arrested, along with an accomplice."
