Nokia says that it has finished construction of its China Campus, which will be home to its China headquarters, research and development center, and mobile phone manufacturing base. The project, located in Yizhuang economic and industrial zone in southeast of Beijing, cost around US$458 million to build.

By the end of the year, over 1,500 Nokia staff will move to the complex from the Xingwang industrial park, also in Yizhuang, Yang Dapeng, a senior executive with Nokia China told China Daily. Nokia has more than 6,000 employees working throughout China.

The Xingwang industrial park is also home to nearly 20 other electronic companies.

Yizhuang has recently been given preferential policies to help their development, according to a five-year plan unveiled by the Beijing municipal commission of urban planning. Yizhuang will dedicated as a hi-tech manufacturing center, and is projected to have a population of 300,000 in five years' time. Several commuter train lines will be built to connect the town with Beijing's center over the next few years."
