Maroccos Wana Selects Comptel IMS Solutions

Comptel says that it has been selected by Wana (formerly Maroc Connect), a Moroccan supplier of fixed and mobile telecommunications services, to provide provisioning, mediation and identifier management solutions for their next-generation network (NGN). Integrated by Bull in the global Information System of the customer, these solutions are being deployed in the context of Wana's strategy of incremental deployment of IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem).

Wana's new IP-based network will help it acquire fixed and mobile customers with services like Voice over IP (VoIP) and virtual private networks (VPN), in a country where penetration for such services is still comparatively low. Comptel's IMS-ready solutions will enable Wana to provision customers and services on that network, collect usage information for charging purposes, and manage IP addresses and mobile numbers.

Mr. Pascal Bourgain, CIO for Wana says: "We chose Comptel because we considered it to be a leader in provisioning and mediation, with a long history of innovation. We also selected Bull as the System Integrator of our complete Information System and we knew that Comptel's solutions could be deployed under the very tight time-scales we needed for this project. Comptel's convergent solutions are also aligned to Wana's strategy to deploy their fixed and mobile services over a converged network and management infrastructure."
