Mobile Content Firm, Zed Gets Private Equity Investment"

The Spanish based mobile content firm, LaNetro Zed has announced that Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS), a private equity group has become a new major shareholder. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

The founders, the Pérez family, remain the largest shareholders of LaNetro Zed. VSS joins Grupo Planeta and Torreal as one of the key shareholders in the Company.

Javier Pérez Dolset, founder, Chairman and CEO of LaNetro Zed, commented, "Veronis Suhler Stevenson is well known ? in the US and Europe ? for its strong expertise in the media and communications industries and its successful track record of helping companies develop their full market potential." He added "We are very pleased to have VSS as a shareholder, who will help us grow our business in the American market, a key objective for the company at present."

Zed recently acquired a majority stake in Montersmob, one of its competitors in the mobile value added services market headquartered in the UK. "
