Orange Buys Mobile, Internet Central Africa Republic License"

PARIS -(Dow Jones)- France Telecom's mobile phone unit Orange said Thursday it acquired a mobile and Internet license in the Central African Republic.

France Telecom said the commercial activities of Orange's new subsidiary in the Central African Republic are scheduled to start up "before the end of the year."

No financial details were provided.

The country has a population of 4.3 million.
