Mobile Metrics Releases for WiFi and Mobile IP Tester
Mobile Metrics announced the availability of a new testing system which simulates the actions of hundreds of thousands of mobiles entering a WiFi, Mobile IP or other IP network. A Mobile IP implementation featuring GRE, IP-IP and reverse tunneling support, is paired with features such as VLAN tagging support to allow testing of Foreign Agent or Home Agent implementations. The system also allows for application performance testing and analysis over WiFi airlinks.
"We feel fortunate that our lead trial customer is so impressed with the product that they've already purchased it," said Cecil Taylor, Vice-President of Sales and Product Management.
The 4100 also includes Mobile Metrics' patent-pending filtering layer, a method by which messages entering and exiting nodes can be manipulated to create various success and error scenarios.
The Torrent 4100 simulates a wide variety of protocols such as HTTP, WAP, MMS, PTT, MIP, SIP, RTCP, RTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DNS, EAP, and RADIUS. Test results are characterized with histograms and over 450 hierarchically organized statistics."
