Eventis Mobile to Launch Cell Operations in Moldova in July

MOSCOW, Mar 30 (Prime-Tass) -- Cypriot-Moldovan company Eventis Mobile plans to launch mobile operations in Moldova in July, the company's General Director Yury Cheban said, Kommersant business daily reported Friday.

Eventis Mobile, which received a GSM mobile license in January, wants to sign up 70,000 users by the end of the year and grab 4.4% of the market, Cheban said. The company plans to invest US$15 million in the network rollout and install 260 base stations covering 40% of the country's territory, he said.

Cheban expects average revenue per user (ARPU) at $8, the daily reported.

Eventis Mobile is part of Cyprus-registered Eventis Telecom Holding, the daily reported. The holding is owned by Dmitry Iventer, former director of St. Petersburg-based AVK financial company, and Vladimir Androsik, who held top positions at Russia's national long-distance operator Rostelecom and Russia's national telecom holding Svyazinvest.

Eventis Telecom Holding also owns Kyrgyz mobile operator BiMoCom and has over 50% in Uzbek Internet provider Sarkor. The company also recently founded SV Capital, which is seeking to get a GSM license in Angola, the daily reported.
