Ericsson Wins Turkish GSM Contract

Ericsson and Turkcell announce they have signed a contract to enhance network capacity in Turkey. The agreement with Ericsson will further expand Turkcell's voice and data traffic capacity.

Turkcell is Turkey's leading operator, with more than 12,000 base stations, and provides network coverage to 97.2 percent of the nation's population.

Süreyya Ciliv, CEO of Turkcell, says: "Turkcell initiated mobile communications in Turkey together with Ericsson. Having maintained our quality, capacity, and service diversity for 13 years, Turkcell is going to carry on making investments to increase the satisfaction and loyalty of its customers by delivering services that will ease and enrich their lives and help make them more productive. We regard our role as being not only to facilitate GSM but also overall communications and technology."
