Canadians Very Satisfied with Wireless Phone Service Choices

Rogers Communications has published a public opinion research report on Canadian attitudes on wireless phone service. Canadians across the country who use a wireless phone were asked a series of questions about wireless services. The survey overwhelmingly revealed a high level of customer satisfaction.

"At Rogers, we believe our business should be driven by the customer. This research represents the voice of the customer, unlike recent industry studies," said Rob Bruce, President, Rogers Wireless.

The survey revealed customers were very satisified. 82% of wireless users believed that there is enough or more than enough choice in the number of wireless service providers. Of those same users, 84% believe that the number of handsets or models of wireless phones available to them at the time of purchasing their last wireless phone was enough or more than enough. Those users were also asked whether there was sufficient choice in the price plans available to them, and 73% indicated that there was enough or more than enough choice.

The survey also indicated that 82% of wireless users were satisfied or very satisfied with wireless phone coverage. Canadians also were satisfied (61%) with the features and technologies available with their wireless phones. Overall, a majority of those surveyed (59%) described good or very good value for money spent on their cell phones. Eighty one percent (81%) said that it was important that Canadian companies provide wireless service to Canadians.

The survey was conducted in February 2007 by the Strategic Counsel and has a national sample size of 1,500. There is a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5% 19 times out of 20."
