Movistar Chile Prepares for 3G Rollout

Movistar Chile, part of the Telefonica Group has selected Aircom International's Enterprise software platform to optimize its GSM network and plan for future UMTS network analysis. Aircom's Enterprise tool suite allows Movistar Chile to converge its entire network planning into one unique tool. The suite of tools, which is multi-technology, multi-vendor capable, will initially host four of Aircom's key integrated network engineering solutions: ASSET3G, ILSA, ADVANTAGE and RANOPT.

Helmut Jaeschke, Design Head, Movistar Chile says: "The aggressive pricing tactics deployed by rival operators meant Movistar had to invest in GSM network optimization. Aircom offered the best solutions for network improvement, allowing us to integrate the entire network planning areas into one unique platform.
