Alaska Wireless Upgrades GSM Core Network

Tecore Wireless Systems says that it has deployed its mobile core network solution at Alaska Wireless. Utilizing Tecore's SoftMSC System, Alaska Wireless provides GSM services to the Dutch Harbor and Unalaska region of Alaska's Aleutian Islands.

The deployment includes Tecore's Over-the-Air Local Prepaid Roaming, a roaming feature that enables Alaska Wireless to offer expanded roaming in its service areas.

"We are very pleased with the fast deployment and technical support that Tecore has provided with its solution," said Mark Horne, president of Alaska Wireless. "Tecore's GSM platform scales very well for our operation and provides all of the functionality that we need as we expand our network and service offerings."
