Huawei Expects 40% Sales Growth in 2007

Chinese equipment manufacturer Huawei expects sales in Mexico to grow by 30-40% in 2007, local daily El Milenio quoted Huawei's Mexico marketing director Óscar Tenorio as saying.

According to the report, Mexico is already an important market for the company and accounts for 15-20% of its global sales revenue. Huawei sees the continuing upgrade of technology in Mexico as being a key factor to its improved sales.

However, the company is not merely looking to increase the number of sales, but rather partner with Mexico's leading telecoms service providers.

"[Our objective] is to consolidate our position as a strategic equipment supplier among the country's most important operators," Tenorio said.

The company said it currently has a market share of around 20% in Mexico."
