Russia's MTS US GAAP Net Profit Up 10.6% to $1.25 Bln in 2006

MOSCOW, Mar 21 (Prime-Tass) -- Russia's biggest mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) increased net profit 10.6% on the year to US$1.246 billion in 2006, as calculated under U.S. GAAP, MTS said Wednesday.

MTS' revenue rose 27.4% on the year to $6.384 billion last year, according to the operator's U.S. GAAP financial report.

In October-December, the company's net profit rose 15.5% on the year to $280.3 million and revenue was up 35.5% to $1.806 billion, MTS said.
