Nextel Launches BlackBerry Platforms

Trunking operator Nextel Argentina, a unit of NII Holdings, has launched BlackBerry wireless platform services in the country, Nextel said in a statement.

BlackBerry services enable access to email, instant messaging, wireless internet connections and corporate networks. BlackBerry devices will also offer Nextel's services including direct local and international connection and telephony. Devices will also include GPS technology and wireless connectivity.

Nextel Argentina will offer two packages for the service, one targeting corporate clients and the other the general consumer and SMEs.

Canadian wireless equipment provider Research in Motion is the owner of the BlackBerry brand."
