Brazil's third largest fixed line operator Brasil Telecom (BrT) has started rolling out quadruple play services of fixed and mobile telephony, internet and pay TV across its areas of concession, newspaper Folha de S Paulo reported.
BrT, which signed an agreement with satellite TV company Sky+Directv last month, has already launched quadruple play in capital Brasília and the city of Campo Grande.
The company's other concession areas include the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Rodônia and Tocantins.
The price of Brasil Telecom's quadruple play packages has not been released nor have the individual dates for launches. But prices should be up to 40% less than competitors, the newspaper reported BrT's chief executive Ricardo Knoepfelmacher as saying.
Brazil's largest fixed line company Oi (formerly known as Telemar) also has an agreement with Sky+Directv to offer pay TV service in the city of Rio de Janeiro."
