Indian Operator Commits to CDMA Deployment

India's Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has renewed its commitment to CDMA2000 and plans to extend its network capacity. In line with its long-term strategy, TTSL also announced the change in its brand positioning by unveiling a full-fledged new brand campaign with an aggressive tagline 'Switch to Tata Indicom - And Experience the Difference'.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Darryl Green- Chief Executive Officer said, "Our achievement of over 15.5 million subscribers in less than 40 months is an endorsement of the value that our technology platform can bring to the consumers. TTSL has a very well defined, ambitious and aggressive rollout plans to enhance its service offerings in India. As we move from voice to data driven market, we are supremely confident of our long-term goals and CDMA fits perfectly in our growth strategy." He added, "Our new brand campaign positions our network and technology platform as our unique differentiator. It is a reflection of our strong belief and conviction and is aimed at freshening the core values, attributes of our brand and reach out to our target audience to make a more informed choice"

The brand awareness campaign across print media, outdoor and television will highlight the four key differentiator of Tata Indicom's network namely, zero call drops, clarity of voice, low electro magnetic radiation technology and a highly secure network to enable consumers to make a more informed decision. TTSL was recently ranked as the no.1 service provider in the mobile user satisfaction survey done by a leading technology publication and was offered the Best Service in Emerging Markets award for its Walky Fixed Wireless Service."
