Ukrainian Communications Cos' Revenue Up 28% on Year in January
KIEV, Feb 27 (Prime-Tass) -- The revenue of communications services providers in Ukraine rose 28.3% on the year to 3.186 billion hryvnas in January, Ukraine's State Statistics Committee said Tuesday.
Of the total, revenue from mobile services amounted to 1.984 billion hryvnas in January, up 53.5% on the year; revenue from long-distance services rose 16.5% on the year to 508.7 million hryvnas; revenue from urban local fixed-line services was marginally down 0.6% on the year to 301 million hryvnas; and revenue from postal services fell 15.1% on the year to 106.1 million hryvnas, the committee said.
In 2006, revenue from communications services in Ukraine rose 22% on the year to 33.492 billion hryvnas.
